About the Leaderboard

Everything you need to know about earning points, badges and climbing the By Bhavani Sewing Challenge Leaderboard — in the app or on the website.

How to participate

Sign in to your student dashboard and go to Submit a Design. Pick a garment category (e.g. Blouse, Kurthi, Gown, Saree Draping) and a design from that category, then upload 3 process photos:

  1. Raw Material — fabric before cutting
  2. Cutting & Drafting — fabric cut and pattern marked
  3. Final Output — the completed garment

Once all 3 photos are added, submit for review. Your entry goes to Bhavani for review before any points are credited.

Photo upload guidelines
  • Recommended size: 1080 × 1350px (portrait)
  • Maximum file size: 1.5MB per photo
  • Allowed formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG

Clear, well-lit photos that show your process step by step give Bhavani the best view of your work during review.

How points are calculated

Every design has a fixed point value, shown next to it when you pick a design in Submit a Design. Points are not credited immediately — they're added to your total only after Bhavani reviews and approves your submitted photos. If a submission is rejected, no points are awarded and you'll see the reason — you can always submit a fresh entry.

Your level badge is based on your all-time total:

  • Beginner — under 1,001 points
  • Intermediate — 1,001–3,999 points
  • Expert — 4,000+ points
Bonus points & Monthly Challenges

Monthly Challenges are special themed events you can join from your student dashboard. When you join a challenge and get an approved submission during it, those points also count toward that challenge and show up as "Bonus" on your portfolio — on top of your regular leaderboard total.

Badges

Badges celebrate milestones across a few areas — Welcome, Courses, Challenges, Streaks, Social and Loyalty. Check My Badges in the app to see which ones you've unlocked and which are still ahead of you. Badges update automatically as you stay active — submitting designs, completing courses, and keeping your streak going are the main ways to earn them.

Monthly, All-Time & Consistency tabs

The Leaderboard has 3 views:

  • Monthly — ranks students by points earned this calendar month. This resets at the start of each new month, so everyone gets a fresh start.
  • All-Time — ranks students by their total points earned since joining. This never resets and reflects your full journey.
  • Consistency — ranks students by streak length (see below), rewarding students who show up regularly rather than just those who submit the most at once.

You can also filter any tab by garment category to see how you rank within a specific category like Blouse or Embroidery.

Keeping your streak alive

Your streak counts consecutive weeks where you've submitted at least one design. Submit at least once a week to keep it climbing.

If you miss a week, your streak goes on pause and you'll get a reminder — submitting again picks it right back up. A streak only resets to zero after several weeks of no activity, so an occasional missed week won't undo your progress, but the sooner you're back, the better.

Refer & Earn

Referrals are tracked separately from your leaderboard points — inviting friends earns its own referral rewards and is not part of your leaderboard total.
